Aengus Hallinan joined Bank of New York Mellon in January 2020 and is based in New York.
His role as CTRO and Head of Enterprise-wide Risk Management provides a unique platform from which to consider technology and information security risk from an enterprise wide risk perspective – bringing together independent risk oversight of technology risk, resiliency risk and third-party risk while also managing the Enterprise Risk Management function. Consideration of people, process and technology is key to comprehensive risk management. Aengus joined BNY Mellon in 2020 following nearly 6 years at Credit Suisse where he was Group Head of Operational Risk Management and Business Continuity Management.
Prior to Credit Suisse, Aengus spent 19 years with UBS Investment Bank in a variety of roles based in London, New York, Tokyo and Hong Kong – including as Chief Operating Officer for Global Equity Derivatives and Proprietary Trading and Head of Equity Trading Business Development, with a strong focus on bringing high performance trading and risk management technology to bear in areas such as electronic market making, volatility trading, structured products and equity risk management. Aengus holds a first-class degree in electrical engineering from University College Cork, Ireland.
