ISA JUNE 2015 HIGHLIGHTS
•ISA Op Ed “How Should We Rethink Cyber Security” featured in national editions of USA Today
•ISA meets at the White House with staff of US Trade Representative established under Presidential Executive Order, which seeks ISA’s help fighting intellectual property theft from nation states. ISA is able to provide multiple useful pieces of evidence to assist the effort.
•ISA agrees to partner with American National Standards Institute (ANSI) on proposal to DHS for $11 million grant to develop the rules under which the Information Sharing and Analysis Organizations (ISAO) called for in the Presidents Executive Order on information sharing will be created (ISAO model was first proposed by ISA in 2008 in the ISA “Social Contract” later cited in the President’s “Cyber Space Policy Review”
•National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) requests ISA develop a full-day program on training corporate board members in the Principles outlined in the Handbook for Corporate Directors ISA created for NACD last year. The training will take place in Chicago June 15 2016.
•ASIS (one of the world’s largest security professional associations) proposes a collaboration with ISA to better integrate physical and cyber perspectives into traditional (and physically oriented) enterprise risk management programs. Among the topics, ASIS proposes ISA collaboration is cyber security awareness, risk assessment, vendor management and supply chain risk
•Center for Audit Quality (CAQ) initiates discussions with ISA regarding reforming audit procedures for cyber security to take a more modern risk management perspective
•ISA provides two-tiered training (IT and corporate board) for NACD chapters in the Carolina’s
•ISA keynotes NYU conference on international risk
•ISA attends DHS Workshop in Boston on developing ISAOs
