September 2021 Highlights

  • ISA and the World Economic Forum co- host two “security experts” meetings as part of their joint Cyber Risk and Corporate Governance project. This phase of the project is focused on developing empirical measures for successful implementation of the ISA-NACD Principles for Board oversight of cybersecurity. ISA board chair JR Williamson (Lidos) as well as Greg Montana (FIS) and John Frazzini (X-Analytics) present to the joint group. ISA board members are invited to present at upcoming meetings. 
  • ISA participates in Joint Government Coordinating Council-Industry Sector Coordinating Council Strategic Planning Initiative Meetings sponsored by the DHS Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) on Public private partnerships (9/21) and Cybercrime (9/23) IT Sector Coordinating Council asks ISA to provide the industry background papers for DHS.   
  • ISA serves as subject matter expert for DHS Resilient Investment Planning Development Working Group (RIPDWG) Task Force Meetings ISA President appointed to Futures Committee charged with drafting the 2022 work plan and the Investment Strategy Committee   
  • ISA, in conjunction with 26 industry associations helps to form the Critical Infrastructure Cyber Forum a new cross-sector industry coalition devoted to creating a more cohesive industry-wide cybersecurity government policy. ISA provides the groups background paper. 
  • ISA Summer Board of Directors holds its quarterly (virtual) Meeting 9/10. Board reviews substantial legislative progress having ISA policy positions added to the COVID relief, Infrastructure and appropriations legislation moving through the Congress. Publisher for ISA’s upcoming enterprise risk management book Cybersecurity for Business (Kogan Page) briefs ISA board on marketing plans for the book which is due for release in the spring. ISA board votes for first dues increase in 20 years. Executive Committee directed to determine if the fall meeting will be virtual, in person or hybrid by first week of October (Executive Committee votes unanimously to hold the fall meeting in virtual format November 16 and 17)
