International Cybersecurity for Corporate Boards Conference, November 8, 2019

The OAS, ISA and Cyber Security Council of Germany jointly hosted the International Cybersecurity for Corporate Boards Conference, held at the OAS office in Washington DC, on November 8, 2019. The discussion topics included the similarities and differences that corporate broads approach cybersecurity globally. Robert Kolasky, Director, National Cyber Risk Management, DHS, remarked on the importance of thinking about cybersecurity as part of an enterprise risk management structure.
Speakers at the conference included Farah Uruhia and Kerry-Ann Barrett, both OAS; Hans Wilhelm Dunn, Cybersecurity Council of Germany; Larry Clinton, ISA and Robert Kolasky, DHS.

OAS Cybersecurity Symposium, Santiago Chile, September 27, 2019

On September 27,2019, Larry Clinton provided the closing keynote speech at the Organization of American States’ (OAS) Cybersecurity Symposium in Santiago, Chile. The purpose of the event was to unveil and release the first Cyber-Risk Oversight Handbook for Corporate Boards targeted for the entire Latin American region. The Handbook is part of a re-energized regional-wide effort the OAS is undertaking to substantially upgrade their efforts to combat cybercrime.

MOU Signed between OAS and ISA, May, 2018

In May 2018, the Organization of American States and the Internet Security Alliance signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly produce a cyber-risk handbook for Latin American corporate boards based on the U.S. version of NACD’s Cyber-Risk Oversight Handbook for Corporate Boards.
